Controller idea; Helping D-GAMER
Posted by: Dis

I have many ideas for accessible game controllers but which one's would be more widely used. After thinking about it I had a cool idea. A single controller should be designed that could be used by a variety of disabilities. To do this, the controller would have accessories for it that could be purchased separately. Accessories like different attachments, buttons and so on. Say someone needs a mouth controller, then it could be adapted to fit the user's needs. Or, if someone needs a one handed controller, it could be adapted for that user. All this with just one controller. I think if there were enough ways to adapt it, then maybe the able-bodied would be interested. I know that it isn't a cheap idea but you would be able to pick and choose the pieces that you need. Also, if there is a change in your disability then you could buy what you need at that time.

I mentioned last week that I was trying to find ways to bring money to D-GAMER to help it grow. I thought about putting a donation link on here but the only problem is I am not sure that I can do that do to personal reasons. Here is what I have worked out. My brother sells different products over the internet, so, he setup an account for me that when people buy things a portion of the sells will go into it for this site. Here is how you can help, just register here to create an account first or you can look around before you register to see what he sells. There is a ton of items plus you can buy from places like Circuit City and other stores. If you buy online check this out, when you shop you are helping D-GAMER.

You need this info at registration:

Some items that I am working on
Posted by: Dis

This week has been a little busy. I have been trying to find ways to bring some money to D-GAMER. This would help with the cost of keeping the site running. Once I start the Podcost my bandwidth usage will rise and if I go over the amount I get it might get expensive. Also, the money will go toward purchasing products to test until I can get big enough that companies will send products to me to try out. This would be nice but it will be awhile before that happens. Anyway, I think that I found a way to do this, I will let you know what it is some time next week.

Another thing that I want to do, is open a technology learning center for the disabled and able-bodied that would have an emphasis on accessible gaming. It would also teach other items as well and be a fun place but gaming will be the main thing. I am not sure how to go about getting it started, so, at the moment I am researching some stuff. I need to find out everything I need before I begin anything. I will also need to find grants and hopefully some donators. Also, to find out if anyone in my area is interested. When I am ready I will call around to the different groups in my area to get the word out. If you have suggestions or anything, email me at dis@d-gamer.com.

Still here
Posted by: Dis

Don't worry I'm still here :) I had to reformat my hard drive and start fresh. One thing that pissed me off was that after I had almost everything installed, guess what? Something happened and I had to do it again. I was so angry that I was ready to throw my PC out the window. Oh well, I'm almost done now. I just need to do some personal preferences.

One more thing, this has delayed my game reviews.

Game reviews coming and a preview of HL2: Ep2
Posted by: Dis

In the past two weeks I have finished three games. I am currently working on the reviews for them and will try to get them out in the next week or two.

I must say that Half-Life 2: Episode One did not disappoint. Although short, it is a blast. I heard that Episode Two should release later this year, I hope. If you have played and finished the game, you need to check out this preview of Episode Two: http://www.gamespot.com/pages/unions/home.php?union_id=HCU .

Sin Episodes: Emergence Setup
Posted by: Dis

I was away again because I had PC problems again. It's running great now, so I think my problems are over.

Anyway, I wanted to show you the game setup features of Sin Episodes: Emergence. One is the difficulty level or what they call 'Challenge', this is a cool feature. It has a slider than can be set from Casual to Extreme or anything in between. So, you can set it to whatever your ability is. The only problem that I found is that once it is set, you are stuck and you can't change it during the game. If you want to change it, you must start over. The other setup screen is in the Audio for Closed Captioning. It tells you just about everything going on during the game.

I am very excited about tomorrow because Half-Life 2: Episode One is released.
